I “Should” let it go

The word “should” only exists in theory.

Reality exists in real time.

When I say:
• They shouldn’t yell at me.
• This shouldn’t be happening.
• I shouldn’t feel this way.

…..l’m arguing with what already is.

“Should” is a theory - a mental projection of how l wish the world worked.

Reality is what’s actually happening.

Every time I say something shouldn’t be happening,
I leave the moment I’m actually in —
and enter a mental argument with reality.

If a “should” were true, it would match reality.
Reality is what is, not what we think should be.

When we notice a “should,” we can turn the thought around and explore what’s actually happening instead of arguing with it.

Arguing with reality prevents us with dealing with reality. This is what some people mean when they say they are “stuck”.

The suffering or the “stuckness” isn’t from what happened.

The stuckness is from the story that it shouldn’t have.
